Rapid Methods for Identification of Multiple Practical Optima for Bi-level Multidisciplinary Optimization

چکیده

Significance of Optimization can’t be merely described with words for system design and engineering application. Optimizing for multidisciplinary problems, where two or more disciplines may interact to reach a consistent solution at a single design point has been focus the research since past decade. Recent developments in multidisciplinary optimization has facilitated in boosting accuracy and precision in system design. However, MDO has not achieved that state to be applicable for practical engineering problems. This project report attempts to notify the requirement an approach to Multidisciplinary Optimization, shaping the aim and scope of the project and presenting the literature survey. Issues arising from bi-level formulation to engineering problems are discussed to explain need of a generic methodology to attempt to look at the general problem of identification of multiple optima, with special reference to disjoint design subspaces and investigate optimization techniques for rapid solution to such problems.
